Trekking Routes in Australia—Which One’s Best?

from:

If you’ve been contemplating the idea of going on a trekking adventure down under, you might be wondering which trekking routes in Australia to consider. After all, there is a vast variety of trekking routes in Australia. For instance, there are trekking routes in Australia that offer the ultimate in adventure; others that offer inn-to-inn comfort; and others which are best known for their natural beauty. In fact, when you first examine trekking routes in Australia, you may be a little daunted by all the different possibilities. However, once that initial feeling of awe subsides, you’ll find that traversing the trekking routes in Australia is entirely doable, no matter what your skill level.

Still, if this trip represents your initial foray into Australia, you might be interested in focusing your attention on the best route available. According to experts in the field, that would have to be the Bicentennial National Trail. This trail is the longest trekking route in the world, extending from North Queensland to Victoria.

Inspired by bushman R. M. Williams, the trekking route follows the old paths traveled by horse-drawn carriages and old-fashioned wagons. You’ll feel the sense of history as you traverse the territory first explored by the pioneers. In fact, you might even find some authentic artifacts during your trip.

If you love exploring national parks, you’ll be thoroughly captivated by this trail, which links a total of 18 of the nation’s parks. You’ll also get a chance to see the full range of scenery that Australia has to offer, including mountains, valleys, plains, rainforests, and grassy fields. While the trail was originally established for horse riding and bush walking, it is also appropriate for camping, canoeing, and bird watching.

Because of the variety the trail offers, it represents an appropriate jaunt for both the veteran trekker and the novice—for the young and the senior citizen. Given its stellar reputation, the trail attracts tourists from around the globe.

Before you make the trip to the trail, it’s best if you contact the Australian Consulate in order to obtain information about visas and visa extensions. Also, be aware of the fact that, because of its length, the trail could take a year or more to complete. However, although the trail can be quite a challenge, successfully completing it can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only will you gain a sense of accomplishment, but you can also celebrate the opportunity to come into close contact with Australia’s most precious natural wonders. In short, a trek through Australia represents the trip of a lifetime!
